Description
The METE MC9 is the newest offering form Canik. This compact semi auto pistol comes chambered for 9mm, and features a 3.18" barrel, an optics ready slide with a co-witness mount type, an FDE cerakote finish, one 12 round magazine, and one 15 round magazine. The MC9 also includes a finger extension baseplate, backstraps, holster, mag loader, and a tool kit.

The Canik Mete MC9 is chambered in 9mm with a capacity of 12+1 and 15+1. The MC9 features an overall length of 6.10"; a barrel length of 3.18"; optics ready w.Co-witness. The Mete MC9 comes optics ready with 100% co-witness capability. Each Mete MC9 includes a hard case and includes the two magazines, an IWB holster, three sized backstraps, tool kit and punch, speed loader, pinky rest and cleaning kit.

GunPrime is EXCELLENT and I love buying from them, so they are 5 stars without question. Now my love hate relationship with this MC9.
I love the size of this firearm. It is extremely accurate. The problem is reliability. I have purchased 2 of these firearms, one in black and this FDE one recently from GunPrime. I had to return the first one twice and it was eventually replaced after Canik replaced the recoil spring and filed the feed shoot and I still had issues. BTW, before you think it, I am not "limp wristing" this firearm. I have also used various brands of ammo. The replaced MC9 seems to be operating pretty well, however, occasionally I still have a failure to fire.
This one, FDE color, I recently purchased and have put about 200 rounds through it. On every magazine I have at least 3 failures to fire. The tips of the ammo are nicked up, sometimes the firing pin strike is off center and probably light, sometimes there is no firing pin strike. In every case, when I reload the rounds that failed to fire, they fire. I am going to try a new recoil spring on this one and I hope that works. I love Canik firearms and have trained on several of them. Reliability is critical in a concealed carry weapon, no matter how accurate it is. If it was just one firearm, it would be a fluke, but now I have purchased two of these over a year apart. I actually thought a new one would be flawless like my other Caniks are.
Am I the only one having problems with the MC9?

I've had the MC9 for about a month and have put about 1000 rounds through it, with zero stoppages. There is nothing I don't like about it. It has the excellent Canik trigger, good sights, easy controls, and shoots very well. I didn't find it snappy at all. It has a substantial enough grip to get strong purchase, and while I personally prefer a bit more aggressive texturing, I had no problems holding on during sticky Birmingham summer days. I would recommend it.
